five favourites - Bold and Beautiful ...

Hello all,
Whilst flicking through this months issue of Living Etc it has only fed my addiction for bright coloured furniture and pattern. Page upon page sees beautiful finds, from the Pema Beach chair from Anthropologie to the sunshine yellow Storm lantern from Toast, it's all about colour and this couldn't be more up my street if it tried.

There are so many clever pieces which can be used inside or outside the home that it provides an encouraging nod to alfresco living. My favourites examples of such furniture being the A Frame Bench by Jennifer Newman (in my favourite.... yellow. Hurrah) and the Florence wire chairs found in John Lewis, these can be used in a dining area inside the home or in the smallest of yards or gardens. The use of bright colours, surface finish and material give a cool, contemporary edge with minimum effort.
Because of all the delicious pieces out there at the moment, it seemed only right that I put together this weeks "Five Favourites" - the theme this week being - Bold and Beautiful.
But before this I couldn't help but put together a little mood board, I am so inspired by the bold colour palettes and bright patterns out there at the moment, whether these are found in fashion prints, wall coverings or furniture they each capture the essence of summer and vitality perfectly.

Go get yourself a bright wire chair, throw a colourful tribal pattered cloth over a bistro table and grab yourself a pimms and say hellllllo to summer!

Take a look below at my five favourite finds and see if anything catches your eye.

1. Latitude Chair by Fermob
2. Pampille Parasol by Sywawa
3. Storm Lantern by Toast
4. Rug - Dash and Albert
5. Chinese Sideboard - Orchid Furniture

Hope you enjoy

beautifully bare ...

Hello all,

For some time now I have been in love though some may say slightly obsessed with industrial decoration and accessories for interiors. I absolutely love industrial lighting, bright coloured industrial pendant lamps are definitely the flavour of the month if not the year for me . The Contemporary Home and West Elm have some great variations of these, from tarnished silver and buffed bronze to the more modern adaptation of glossed red and yellow (my favourite).
An element of the industrial look which I will never tire of is exposed brick, whether it is painted over, featured only in selected areas or takes over an entire back wall, to me it always works brilliantly when accessorised with industrial pieces. I think exposed brick works particularly well in open living dining/kitchen areas, there is something about a brick wall against a rustic wooden table and a collection of different coloured tolix chairs. It definitely would be the way I'd decorate my space.

So with this love affair of all things industrial I thought I would share some of my favourite images. Whether its the use of exposed brick, industrial lighting, wooden floor boards or tolix chair and colour palettes, I think each one has something great to offer. Take a look... which one is your favourite?

My Favourite!

five favourites ...

Hello all,

So here is my next bunch of "five favourites". Being a girl who loves all things textiles, whether it's a cozy throw, some lovely linens or my favourite of all beautiful cushions. I love mix and matching textures and patterns, clashing together colour and print makes any room seem all the more interesting and sprinkled with personality. It is seemingly impossible for me to go into any interior or department store without falling in love with a whole host of cushion covers, these range from traditional gingham's to the more quirky, printed motifs, I just can't get enough.
Cushions are in my opinion one of the most important and fun accessories for any room, whether they are piled high in an eclectic mix on top of your bed or lovingly placed in a window seat, they can make any room/corner/or spare bit of space seem all the more inviting and comfortable. Not only that but they are without doubt one of the easiest and cheapest ways to update a room, if there is a colour trend or print that you adore but haven't got the time or money to work a whole room around the style, then a collection of cushions can do this for you with minimum effort but maximum effect.

So with this, I have pulled my five favourites below. These are just some of the beauties that are about at the moment! Ranging from mid to high range price points, they are all worthy of a look/buy.

1.Joya
2. Sukan
3. Lizzie Allen
4. SJones - Etsy
5. Anthropologie

I hope that something here has caught your eye!

snap shot ...

Sunday night is usually the same weekly ritual : a big cup of tea, my blog catch ups, a bit of inspiration board making and the occasional snap shot of something I've put together, from a stack of books to a tea cup full of necklaces. This Sunday being no different, however since launching my second blog a few days ago I have now have somewhere to put all of these Sunday night snap shots. Instead of keeping them in one huge folder on my laptop, I'm now keeping an image only collection on my tumblr blog. So with this I thought I'd share one of my latest snap shots.

If you like what you see then hop over to Scene To Believe

There is something brilliantly liberating about taking a photograph and just putting it out there, with no accompanying text, tag, explanation or title. So simple but a really motivational and hopefully inspirational process.

five favourites ...

Hello all,

So tonight I have come to a little decision, amongst trying to organise my folders and the ridiculous amount of images which I collect on a daily basis I thought I should include them in a weekly post called "five favourites".  Each week, hopefully every Tuesday I will post five of my favourite images which I've found throughout the week, these "five favourites" will be based on a theme, colour, trend or anything else which has caught my eye within the last seven days.

So to debut my "five favourites" feature, I've decided to run with the theme from yesterdays post which is print. I am totally obsessed at the moment, an obsession which is only increasing by my daily browsing on Etsy as I'm on the hunt for a pretty print for my bedroom.

Low in behold I have fallen for some lovely pieces, I have my five stand alone favourites below.

1. Mengsel Design
2. Yellow Lion
3. Hannah Lloyd
4. Flat Land Kitchen
5. Bold and Noble

All worthy of getting hung in any room! Delicious.

Enjoy
