comfort in the cold ...

Hello all,

So after a very Christmassy evening out last night with a friend I came home compelled to find inspirational images which reflect the indulgence, comfort and prettiness that winter offers. Through the jewel colour palettes, the speckles of glitter and abundance of sumptuous layers translating winter through craft, styling, print or interiors it really is something to behold.

Below I have pulled some of my favourite images. Whether through the colours used, the subject or the finishing touches, each image captures the magic of winter and the Christmas period for me.

colour me ... purple and blush

Hello all,

So whilst doing some research / inspiration seeking for wedding favor ideas (for my sisters wedding)   I came across so many beautiful images, from table settings (my ultimate bit of eye candy), flower arrangements and beautiful papers I was overwhelmed by the visual impact of the delicate hues of pinks and purples. Of course one would expect to see pastel shades when researching wedding colour schemes and favor ideas, but the images which I have collected use pastel shades in a more contemporary and refreshing way. The colours offer such a whimsical and gentle quality to the subject, these shades of blush and purple soften each image and capture the romance of the occasion.

Below are my stand alone favourites. Utterly inspiring, achingly beautiful.

Pretty as a picture.

minimal moments ...

Hello all.

Whilst I have been doing the rounds on design and trend sites this week, I have for some reason, unbeknownst to myself only been interested in minimalism. Simple, sharp and contemporary interiors seem to be the inspiration behind my posts this week.
Though a lover, if not an addict of white and grey walls, I am, as many of you may have noticed by now a huge fan of coloured accessories and furniture. However this week I have been oddly attracted to a distinctly monochrome and grey colour palette. The images which I have pulled below were amongst my favourite finds of the week, what they lack in colour they make up for in mood and ambiance. The restricted colour palette makes such a visual statement, the rooms look contemporary and minimal with a homely edge, a combination which is often hard to create.

Take a look at the images below and see what you think.

Happy Weekend ...

Hello all,

So what a bad, bad blogger I have been recently. It has been a fair few weeks since I last posted but with work, packing, travelling and experiencing the glory of Bestival time really has just flown by. However, I am  now fully back, I've recovered from many an hour of travelling, almost over my cold and have finally gotten rid of the last grain of glitter left over from Bestival.  It's time to get back to business.
And where better to start than my obligatory room envy image collection. Not a day goes by that I don't "oooo" or "ahhhh" over an interior image, and as you can imagine with my absence as of late I have had a lot of  "ooo and ahhh-ing" catching up to do. And what a pleasure it has been.

It seems I just can't get over my love of white washed walls, there is something so ethereal about a room washed with the purity of white paint. All it takes is some colourful accessories and furniture and variation in textures to make the room retain that comforting and inviting edge which, in my opinion is key.

Along with the loveliness of these interior images, I have also came across some other beauties, the prettiness of which seem to wish you a happy weekend without me even having to say it.
