The Want...

So as we all know Monday's can be pretty blue, it's one of those days where the weekend seems like a distant memory, when all we really want to do is get back into bed, huddle away in the duvet whilst drinking a cup of tea and eating a piece of toast! That was exactly the mood in which I was in today, though, as expected work and real life beckoned and I reluctantly succumbed.

However, whilst having my daily dose of style.com my eyes were treated to what I can only describe as a heavenly, if not perfect collection of gowns courtesy of the Elie Saab spring 2011 collection.

There is just something magical about these dresses! As a gal who prefers to wear dresses than jeans, and would happily wear a floor length dress every single day for the rest of my life, these dresses were exactly what I needed to indulge over.

Now I must face that tricky and ever too familiar hurdle that is reality. Yes, I may never own one of these beauties but I do get to look at them whenever I want (through the magic of the internet) ... they're only ever a click away.

Sweet Disposition...

Just a quick one today, I've only just realised how long it's been sicne I last created and posted a fashion set inspired by my recent window/online/ in store shopping.

As a die hard fan of the tea dress I have used this piece as my main focus within this set. Keeping it up to date with the impossibly cool yet classic camel, mohair blazer and black wedge. An outfit I'm sure not many would turn their nose up at.

Today I mostly love...

Vincent Cassel

After seeing the Black Swan last night, which was by the way incredible and in my opinion well worthy of all the current acclaim and buzz, I must say that I have become somewhat smitten with the chap above!

I don't usually post about such things, but I will make an exception just this once. He is a smouldering, French man after all... what more can I say.

I hope you have all had a happy weekend, enjoy the last few hours of it.

I Love Kane...

So it is official, I may have just found my favourite ever collection - the Kane Resort 2011 collection. As a Kane enthusiast I can always rely on his collections for inspiration and temptation ( he may be a favourite to the eye but not the bank balance). However, this collection goes above and beyond.

The digital prints are beautiful, inspired by what seems like outer space, it is an explosion of colour, a contrast between deep, intense dark hues to translucent, fluid, lighter shades. The combination of sheer fabrics with panels of leather, contrasting fabric weight, something which is used throughout the collection, the chiffon shirt and flared, leather, high waisted trousers being the perfect example. This, along with the shape, the volume, the frills and button details.... the list is endless. I could go on. But I will instead let your marvel yourself, with my FAVOURITE looks which I have pulled below.

I am proud to say that a whistle and a dream is one year old today!

Though at times I may have neglected, ranted or spoken sheer gibberish on here, I realllllly love blogging.

I hope you all enjoy it too.

a label of love...

Happy New Year to one and all.

I hope everyone is excited and inspired for this coming year.

I plan to make this year a productive, creative and challenging one. These words all encapsulate the feeling of opening up I am mine.

It is all I've been thinking about really, I've spent today looking for, buying and making stock as well as thinking about designs for leaflets and my labels and tags for my stock.

For my jewellery (well earrings and hair slides) Ive decided I want to print out my design onto card and put the jewellery directly onto it instead of using little boxes or having swing tags attached. I think I have got my favourite and hopefully final design for my jewellery labels done, I'm going to test print them tomorrow, but here is a sneak preview of how it is currently. I will upload the printed version some time this week.

Thoughts?

I'm assuming a lot of you will be familiar with this sentence, it's from my favourite poem by William Wordsworth. I have always loved the poem and especially this line. I'm naturally, always drawn to things in craft stores that have little quotes or snippets of text on them, so I have gone down that route myself hoping that it will drum up some interest with like minded people / hopeful customers!

Anyway, I must dash.
